So i was brushing one of my cats a couple days ago, and i didn’t put it back where it normally goes. It’s now lost forever. I literally cannot find it. I have looked everywhere.

I ALWAYS put things back when i use them. Everything has a specific spot it goes. When I go off script and put it somewhere else other than the specific spot it goes, it’s just… gone. Never to be seen again.

It’s in the same spot, but a different orientation and thus totally invisible. At least, that’s what always happens to me.

Then it is under something. Whatever it is under is something that there’s no way it could be under. The item it’s under is either clear so that you can see everything under it, or waaaaay the small to cover up the entire thing without you seeing it. Either that or the cats played with it and pushed across the house.

I find that if I turn on a flashlight, even just the flashlight on my phone and then put it close to the ground so that it shines parallel to the ground that I will often see stuff that I couldn’t see before. It seems to work on things from the size of a tiny screw up to something like a large remote. It could be the change in the shadows makes your brain reprocess what it is seeing, or it could be some kind of summoning spell.

I like to think of it as saving the brush for when the replacement breaks. It is a spare now, having a lovely early retirement with the possibility of returning to work depending on circumstances.

That said, I have found that putting things back where they go is the second best tool. The best for me is to literally tie it to myself. My belt bags have all the important things including a first aid kit, phone, headphones, power bank and cables, nitrile gloves, pen, notepad, car keys, and so on.

For your cat I would recommend buying a few of the brush, identical ones are what I would go for, and place them where you would expect to find the brush. Maybe try looking for the brush and just note all the places you check in order. Then load each up with a brush and you will never be without.

The most important thing in life is to pet the cat so anything we can do to ensure we pet the cat is good.

oh, there’s no shortage of affection for my cats. I annoy them to hell with kissies and cuddles. They just want to sleep, and some idiot keeps waking them up for kissies and cuddles heh. But thanks for the advice :)

Lol, yes, though they secretly love the attention and love. Mine is absolutely clear about wanting pets and cuddles at all times and will even come sit on my chest when I lay down to be gently rocked by my breathing just like he did when we was a tiny kitten. Nothing is better than giving a cat what they need.

yup. I love giving affection and attention to my cats. They don’t like each other yet, but they are coming to terms with having a little brother/big sister. But yeah, I LOVE giving them attention. They probably get very cheesed off because i am always waking them up.

      D:

I’m usually pretty good at the “put it back where it came from” shtick, but i didn’t think in this case because i was so excited to have a new member of my family from a few days back. So i guess i just buy a new brush lol

Sunglasses are the worst. I own a pair of sunglasses for a long as I can put them back. The first time, every time, I have to replace them after misplacing them. If I place them on a counter, they’re gone. If I do find them, someone has sat on them, stepped in them, or stored them in a drawer full of hard, heavy and sharp things.

That reminds me, I wore them today and I haven’t seen them in 4 hours. RIP.
