    I hope one of these Chinese companies eventually taps into the massive potential of low-end hardware for exports. My old hardware ain’t gonna last long, and more people would be able to buy cheap GTX 1050ti-level stuff instead of the more expensive AI/raytracing tech most companies are focusing on nowadays.

      The problem will be getting the parts into western markets without being tariffed to hell or outright banned.

        Yeah, but I’m looking at it from my selfish third world view lol. Consumer computer consumption is bound to go up, and Chinese video game companies are already making huge strides in the mobile market. Would go hand-in-hand with exploring the PC gaming market too.

    I just built a rig I intended to last me the next ten years, and to obtain independence from Windows, NVIDIA, and Intel (though obviously not their x86 architecture or their AV1 encoding/decoding). I swore I wouldn’t build another in that time unless things changed drastically soon and/or components became really cheap. I figured in ten years I’d be able to compile a much more Chinese rig (well, y’know, moreso than I have now because everything has some stuff from there).
