South Korea, the country of K-pop, Kia and Samsung, a stable democracy for decades. More than a year ago, on 3 december 2024 the conservative president Yoon announced a state of siege live on television and plunged South Korea into chaos for 6 hours. Yoon seemed to be radicalized by the idea that North-Korea was on the break of attacking South-Korea and he wanted to save South Korea himself from this.
Yoon’s seizure of power eventually ended in prison. And for the first time, a democratically elected president is now facing the death penalty. Yoon never showed remorse.
The documentary ‘The Seoul Guardians’ about the coup just premiered by a South-Korean filmmaker at the International Rotterdam Film Festival: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4IetUt0yPQ

What the fuck, who fucking cares?
Can you imagine putting a US president to death for his crimes?
Yes, yes, in fact I can.

Yes, all of them in fact

Americans, and American politicians pay attention. This is how laws are supposed to work.
Sounds kinda fun. Can we do this?
Best we could do is ignore it and give him more power
