Nature lovers across the North East are being urged to wrap up warm and head out at dusk, as starling murmuration season continues.

Each winter, thousands of starlings gather above the region’s wetlands and other locations in swirling, shape-shifting displays before diving into reedbeds to roost for the night.

The spectacle, which typically runs from November to March with a peak in mid-winter, has become one of the North East’s most anticipated wildlife events.
