At this rate, it will genuinely take more than a century to rebuild this country and de-nazify it. I hate it here.
Russia has managed to rebuild Mariupol very fast. With China’s help, Russia, i think, can rebuild Ukraine in about a decade once it has been cleansed of the Nazi regime. It will take longer to deprogram the zombified population, but that can also be done in a generation or two, as long as Russia or a pro-Russian government is in control. Most of the really ideologically hardened Nazis will leave of their own accord and become Europe’s problem. The few stay-behinds will not be able to help themselves and will plot to commit terrorist attacks, get killed or caught and imprisoned.
Rebuilding as in talking about buildings: yes, that was fast in Mariupol.
Rebuilding with people takes longer. As this video mentiined the number of births is even further down.
I could totally envision the US banning Spanish.
I could see that.
I found a YouTube link in your post. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:
For clarification, the channel above has a video where a pretty racist depiction of Ukrainians is shown (at around 1:05), so I would steer clear of that channel: (“Why supporting Ukraine is a bad idea”) https://youtu.be/xCa_8aBEs0M
I disagree vehemently with your suggestion to steer clear of the channel. The channel is run by a native Ukrainian, born and raised in Mariupol. Throughout their videos i have never seen them express actual bigotry towards Ukrainians, but rather criticism of the current Ukrainian government and its Banderite nationalist ideology. I agree that the image chosen for the meme in that frame of the video is racist, and i wish they hadn’t chosen to display that particular meme to make their point. However if you read the text in that meme, the point it makes is actually to criticize the racist nature of Ukrainian nationalist historical revisionism which considers Russians to be racially inferior and “not real slavs” due to alleged “Mongol admixture”. Leaving aside that one frame (which you are right to criticize and i fully agree that it is unacceptable imagery), i agree with the points he makes in the video. Do you disagree that video? Further, i think the channel is an overall very valuable source of information and insight into the views of at least a part of the people living in the Donbass, as well as first hand images/videos of Mariupol and its reconstruction.
