Mega Drive - 198X AD, probably the greatest darksynth/synthwave album to date.
I was literally listening to Mega Drive as I saw your comment. I’ve been acquiring a taste for tracks from 199X and 200X too lately, my faves probably being Orbital Strike for 199X and Control Alt Dissonance from 200X for it’s chill trippiness.
There are a lot of synthwave artists nowadays that essentially do the same thing, but Mega Drive’s albums are on another level and wholly unique. Love the vibe they offer. Really cool to see another fan!
if you had to recommend one track on the album, which would it be do you think?
Probably Exoskeleton, Acid Spit, NARC are the top 3 for me.
Anyone familiar with Leprous?
I first met their - “The Sky Is Red” song, through watching the performance of their drummer. While usually not my type of music, this band is fun to listen to in a car.
never heard of them before, but just listened to that song and it’s super epic! irregular time signatures are always so hard for me to wrap my head around hahaha. love the vocals too.
