While blockading an oil refinery because of a shortage seems kinda counter-intuitive, and while that Irish Lives Matter sign is very embarrassing, disrupting Irving Oil is always a net positive
Disrupting medical appointments not so much. Frankly that part wasn’t that disruptive, nobody really ran out of fuel but it spooked pharma companies which spooked the government.
Target the refinery fine. But people missed medical appointments they were waiting months from their slow driving protests and motorway blockades. If you ever experienced this in the Irish system it’s heartbreaking. The hse treat you like scum and put you in the back of the list.
The government is putting its surpluses into yet another tax cut to allow already well off people in their SUVs to waste fuel all over again because these protesters didn’t want to be tax compliant for rebates. Rural Ireland has some of the most entitled snobbish fuckers that want the rest of the country to pay for them to live in middle of nowhere who think their milk and beef alone are feeding the country.
