    Nothing new here.

I’m going to paraphrase Shelby County (Memphis TN) Sheriff Jack “Rambo” Owens during a roll call brief I was present for late 1989. “If you see an out of state tag on 240, you pull them over and search the vehicle, figure out the probable cause later, call a K-9 if you need something solid to write down”. He liked to use the work “Darkies” a lot as well.

FYI K-9 units are trained to alert when the handler makes a certain gesture or sound regardless of the presence of drugs, creating instant probable cause.

Jackie boy did the state a huge favor and shot himself in the face (in his county issued vehicle with his county issued shotgun) 5 May 1990, shortly after an investigation into his treating the office as an entrepreneurial endeavor was announced. I resigned about a week after and surrendered my POST certification and took to bending robots to my will ever since.

Fun side note, my Field Training Officer was sentenced to 6 years for raping a rape victim inside the dept office

I wasn’t a good cop, and there is no such thing as a good cop. Every cop (including me) knows another cop or cops that is into some heinous shit and doesn’t speak up. I’m really, REALLY glad I got out of that life.
