Western leftists need to shut up and focus on their own conditions. Regime change in Venezuela is literally the goal of the US criminal blockade.

Sadly, the debate regarding Venezuela is intense EVEN in Cuban telegram channels. In others words, Westerners aren’t the only ones scared regarding Venezuela but even Global South comrades(I have seen Iranian and Cuban comrades in different channels that I am in voicing both sides of the debates). As evidence of this, you can check this post from a Colombian comrade that synthesised both positions regarding this debate: https://xcancel.com/Edisson_hilos/status/2053998295471575292#m

As always, we have to move forward and always fight back against the US funded narrative regarding Venezuela. We will prevail if we avoid falling for the imperialist bait as the Colombian comrade mentioned:

The worst thing we can do is take the CIA’s bait. Dividing ourselves, accusing one another, and killing each other among revolutionaries while the enemy watches from above, waiting for us to finish the job for them. It worked in Grenada.

Those who speak out have a right to do so. So do those who defend the cause. But calling a critic a traitor or accusing someone who offers a nuanced view of being a sellout is like handing the enemy what it couldn’t achieve with bombs.

Obviously, we must be very vigilant. Our Venezuelan brothers and sisters must guard against those who take advantage of negotiations with the oppressor to let themselves be swayed. At those negotiating tables, bonds are forged, and those who lack a firm resolve end up confusing the genocidal pedophile with a partner.

Venezuela needs us to stop destroying ourselves and put all our energy into what can save us: maintaining unity, welcoming self-criticism, keeping a cool and analytical head, truly preparing ourselves by correcting what went wrong, organizing, arming ourselves, building real power, and using this “time of submission” without wasting it.

I’m thinking of a mural they painted at the UPTC, here in Bogotá, Colombia, featuring a quote by Camilo Torres:

“Let’s focus on what unites us and set aside what divides us.”
