To not precisely answer your question, I’ve discovered a not so nice once which happen to be the place we’ve just moved in. It’s located barely a few miles from Paris where we’ve been living for almost 30 years.
I’m not talking about the people or anything like that, just the architecture and the so-called urbanism and city planning that is atrocious and absolutely not centered on the inhabitants. Here motorized traffic is the undisputed king/queen to which human beings are expected to bow and to shut the fuck up. And don’t ask for nice parks, for kids to play in or for people to enjoy. It’s concrete almost everywhere and roads. There is very little made for walking there.
I was keenly aware of that change moving there but it’s still real… sad to witness how bad this religion of the car has gone around Paris, at least in the not wealthy suburbs. And how far our legislators were willing to let people from those suburbs get screwed over in order to help Parisians preserve a certain quality lifestyle. Unsurprisingly, it shows in how not happy people around here seem to be. At least, it’s much cheaper than Paris while still being real close to it… which is the reason we decided to move here ;)
