Yep. He’s a bigoted narcissist, so it kills him that he can’t call colbert low IQ or nasty as some shorthand for other words he calls non white people, women, or other groups he hates. Colbert is a smart white man that’s loved by many, pretty handsome, talented, has an amazing career in entertainment, so he gets “jerk” becauase there’s not much he can denigrate him with as far as his bigoted perceptions go.
He definitely hates other people getting positive attention. Like a spoiled kid, he’s wounded and desperately wants it to be him, since he craves that type of approval so much. Possibly related to how his parents treated him.
He’s definitely jealous of people who are well loved, real comedians (vs. just a jerk like his comedy) and bonafide celebrities… and didn’t get there by inheriting several hundred mil from their dad. That last part is also why he consistently lies about his inheritance.
