I think that a lot of the world is feeling very uneasy about the World Cup. Great to have a wonderful football competition, but the excess baggage that is coming with it puts a massive stain on it.
Sorry to hijack your thread like this, there are more important things than the World Cup…

This yellow sign is called Star Roundabout. It used to be full of cafes where we enjoyed the World Cup because the area is destroyed and under Israeli control.

This is what the roundabout looked like; I just found this picture on the internet. Perhaps many people don’t know that Gaza used to be a modern place; maybe people think that Gaza were only a few villages of bedouines. Please, keep telling the world what they don’t know.

In this area, there was a park with lots of games. We used to gather at night to watch the World Cup and enjoy the show. Everything was available, from food to children’s toys. Everything was destroyed.

I think that Rania said the right things: “Nice game but we suffer”, and that is true. I am in Europe, safe and sound, but I boycot the World Cup because I disagree with all the hypocisy of western nations, not opposing how USA and Israel treat others, like Palestine, Lebanon and Iran.
