(not sure if pixel watches are allowed but…) Dog what the fuck??? I have never dropped it or thrown it down… I was thinking of glueing it back down but I can’t find if this has ever happened to anyone else because online search is borderline useless now.

The battery is visibly expanding, and that’s what made it pop off. Thankfully the battery made it easier for it to be replaced.

The OG apple watches did that all the time so I replaced probably 10 different ones for friends and family.

Now you can use that space to discreetly store some snacks! I bet you could fit several listerine strips or maybe even part of a pringle.

A quick guess: the lithium battery has puffed up a bit and pushed the top off. If it’s hot where you are that probably won’t help. Yesterday I accidentally left my phone in the sun and when I retrieved it the poor thing looked like my sourdough - I was lucky it didn’t cause a fire. Same goes for your watch: if battery is damaged be extra careful.

Ah, I admittedly didn’t look very close at the watch or my wrist and assumed the glue fucked up. Looking again it does seem to be bulging a little

You probably already know this but don’t wear that thing. Google will probably overnight you a new one and a fireproof box for that one. I’m sure they don’t want stories of them exploding on people’s wrists floating around.

The bulge is pretty apparent in the photo.

Plus atmospheric heat isn’t enough to make the adhesive fail - who would choose such an adhesive? They’d have failures where it’s normally hot, like the US Southwest.

Sun load can heat such things significantly, manufacturers use adhesives for such conditions.

Mine did the same thing on the screen, bottom housing, and the little metal pads (be careful, there are springs under there you don’t want to lose!)

The adhesives weren’t made for these temperatures. Threw some B-7000 on it until my pebble watch pre-order makes it

Looking forward to it! Was supposed to ship in June but apparently they took more time to enter production than expected.

I checked the repebble site a bit and it seems interesting. I didn’t see much on the OS though, can it get notifications or reply to said notifications? And can it be used without the connected phone nearby (with service obv; I forget my phone sometimes)

Jeez. Do you think it’s just the heat? That would make sense. I want a Circle, but not if there going to pop like they can’t stop

No, it’s from the swollen battery.

Those adhesives take more heat to make them fail, or they’d be failing in the US South/Southwest all the time.
