Just because it doesn’t feature a politician, doesn’t mean it’s not political. In fact, it’s very political.

I agree wholeheartedly with the message, but this is a place for those that seek a respite from this kind of messages.

Yeah, I hate that they’re being called that. I know a couple visually impaired people who have used them to great effect but one of them has stopped because he doesn’t want to be seen as a perv. I’m face blind so I’ve long fantasized about something that could tell me who I’m talking to, but that’s “creepy”. It doesn’t help that meta is the main one and it’s always online. I just want a local offline model that helps me recognise friends and acquaintances so that I can greet them properly and not have everyone think I must secretly hate them because I ignore them in public.

Hmmm… I wonder if there would be an application for alexithymia, except the glasses would show the likely emotion that the person’s face is displaying. That would be useful and also ripe for comedy. “My meta glasses seem to indicate that you’re angry…” punch

When I first saw Augur in Earth Final Conflict I wanted his glasses and his AI. I was so eager to see this technology appear in our lives. Now that it is here, I want nothing to do with it
