I’m so fucking ready.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson is a mirror of Robert Pattinson.
Started out in a goofy genre movie for teens. Everyone thought he was lame. Then he pivoted into great movies and has been building his reputation ever since.
I remember when I realized he was not just some pretty boy actor who is good enough for romcoms and not much else.
His performance in Nocturnal Animal was borderline demonic and I have kept an eye out for this guy ever since.
From Kick-Ass to Werwulf. I hope he will eventually get the same respect as Pattinson has achieved, because he deserves it. Like genuinely deserves it.
I also have a lot of respect for Eggers after he made Nosferatu. His other movies were well made, but they didn’t really make me feel much. Nosferatu was proof that he can also make emotional stories where you feel the characters’ turmoil. I hope Werwulf is a continuation of that.
That looks good. Super distinct cover art
Damn that’s a stacked cast. Aaron Taylor-Johnson is an actor who seemed like he came out of nowhere in my world and has been impeccable in everything I’ve seen him in.
I agree with everything except him coming out of nowhere. He’s been acting for awhile and he keeps getting better.
I hear you, he had been around a long time before I saw him in something which then had me going back and saying “Oh wait that was him?!” In a bunch of movies I’d seen in years past. What impressed me was how unrecognizable to me his different characters were from each other, which I suppose is why I hadn’t realized it was the same person in many of them.
Honestly can’t blame you. There’s a pretty far gap between kick-ass and werwulf. It’s almost meme worthy to compare the two.

I have always appreciated that he moves between genres and tries different things. The fact that he’s seemingly joined Eggers’ list of go-to actors, makes me very happy. Him, Lily Rose Depp and Willem Dafoe friggin brilliant and they genuinely deserve to be in these crazy Eggers movies. I have had an eye on Lily Rose after The Idol. Terrible show, but she carried it entirely by herself and managed to salvage some of it with her performance. I was thrilled when she got to be in an Eggers movie because she deserves to be in great movies. She has mad talent.
Also, I know people have been poo-pooing Johnson’s acting in Nosferatu, but it’s okay for people to be wrong sometimes and not recognize a good performance when they see it.
That was my first response too. If casting can make a movie good, this one is going to be phenomenal
Ther wulf.
Ther castle.
Why are you talking like that?
I thought you wanted to.
People will go so far as to make movies about a Werewolf, but nobody stops to ask ‘How wolf’? 😢
Yeah, I just don’t get Aaron Taylor-Johnson… I just don’t understand that one.
But will it be as good as Dog Soldiers?
