I feel this deeply… I cant keep windows closed cause its so godawful hot out, and I just… Ugh it hurts my soul and makes me want to scream and cry. Stop overstimulating me. Also death to leafblowers like, seriously they just move things around. Just get a goddamn pushbroom, it’ll be more effective.

I hate them with a passion. And like OP, I can hear one at my place every day.

Have you tried meditation? I’ve had some luck with it in the past. You basically learn to hear the sound without reacting.

No idea about the other buildings, but the gardeners at my apartment do that. I don’t blame the gardeners, I blame the people who won’t pay them a complete paycheck for doing a complete job unless they kill time with extra pointless leafblowing.

Edit: In this case, they should be paid for doing a full job even if they finish early.

I feel far more terrible for the gardeners because they’re breathing gasoline fumes and losing their hearing the whole time. They’re in the baking sun too. This is not the way to treat workers. Gardening is hard enough without making it harder.

My apartment manager lives in my building and they may be annoyed too. The apartment next door seems to have a live-in apt manager too. Maybe they will be willing to listen to a suggestion about scheduling their gardeners on the same day. Maybe even at the same time.

Have you tried noise-cancelling headphones? They’ve been a game changer for me with road noise at work.
