The next Bandcamp Friday is coming up and I like to look for new and interesting bands. Would love to hear about lemming artists, or even some favorites I’ve probably never heard of.
To add to the discussion, here are a few of my favs:
-
Sincere Engineer Found them on a random fluke and they quickly became a new favorite. Garage band style with just a great sound. A bit moody, but still high energy with really satisfying lyrics. They’ve got a new album that I plan to pick up myself.
-
Gunship Fairly well known, I think, but I picked up Unicorn shortly after it was released and listen to it front to back regularly. One of the few synthwave albums I actually enjoy. The ripping sax solos on pretty much every track certainly help.
-
aivi & surasshu A married duo that is probably most well known for their work on Steven Universe (that’s how I found out about them). Their most recent album Meanwhile is such a wonderful mix of digital and acoustic. Very soothing melodies without lyrics. It always puts me in a pleasant mood.
Sun Control Species, which is progressive trance from Australian bush doofs (outdoor raves). He doesn’t play Victoria anymore :(.
It’s stuff I made in my living room with open source tools and released a little over a year ago. There’d be more but I’m in a real band now!
Probably not your jam OP but if you want some dubstep vibes:
Nominee & Youngsta - Ascension
Dubstep with a rhythmic, tribals drums, trancey kind of vibe.
Bengal Sound - Culture Clash part one
Dubstep renditions of Bollywood sounds, can’t recommend this enough for its pretty unique vibes. If you like this there are two more parts as well, equally good.
More west Asian inspired beats in the name of dubstep. All the NAAn releases are in the same style and worth listening to!
Hello fellow Gunship enjoyer! Dark All Day got me into them, particularly Time After Time
-
Lala Lala - specifically I Want The Door To Open - experimental and introspective
-
Yumi Zouma - I recommend Carnation from the album Willowbank
-
CFCF - Raining Patterns from Continent

Sincere Engineer is such a great band. I used follow them pretty closely on TikTok.
I mainly do experimental electronic music but I’m working doing a cover song right now. I’ve been stressed out and anxious lately so progress has been slow.
I’ve been loving Rick White Archive, Venjent, and Century Media.
Rick White is one of the singers and guitarist of the first Canadian band signed to Sub Pop records, Eric’s Trip. He mainly releases self recorded music, but recently he and former Eric’s Trip bandmate Julie Doiron released an album, “Together” that’s very good.
Venjent is a British drum & bass artist who regularly releases new tracks based on found samples.
Century Media is a German record label focusing on metal.
