Before anyone says that they’ll still vote for them, understand that this is his base that’s eroding. There is a 66% disapproval rating. There is almost nobody on the fence on this. 33% means he is 3% lower than I have ever seen him with his base. https://apnews.com/projects/polling-tracker/
The latest abysmal polls have found that only roughly a third of Americans—33 percent—support Trump amid his increasingly unpopular Iran war and climbing gas and grocery prices.
The findings across a number of surveys are the lowest of his presidency and nearly as low as those of any second-term president since the 1940s, when polling began, the Times noted.
Richard Nixon scored lower than Trump—with only 24 percent support—but that was just days before his resignation in the wake of the Watergate scandal. Trump previously scored nearly as low as he has in the current findings following the violent storming of the Capitol by Trump supporters on Jan. 6, 2021.
We can all read the numbers, we just don’t buy it. There is literally no amount of polling that will convince me his base is abandoning him. He could rape their children in front of them and they’ll still vote for him.
The problem is this type of message is gonna be used to justify going after his base. Appealing to them. Usually with rascist and homophobic rhetoric. Liberals will gleefully rip away trans rights if we let them think it’ll work.
3% is huge in the political world. I think everyone is going around trying to be cheat-proof and not worrying about his base at this point. Trump knows it, have you see his hair lately? He looks like he might be tearing it out.
You’re missing the point. There is no amount of depravity from which his base will join you. It will never happen. At best they will stay home. But they’ll probably just show up and vote for him anyway come the day.
More importantly in your effort to pursue these God damn monsters, these putrid pieces of pestilence, you lose double the amount on the other end. That’s the problem with chasing deplorable people. You become deplorable in the effort.
