    My guix contains many hurds, and runs on the hardware I liberated from my employer.

      I believe that this is a business ran by one person. The T420 laptops are not that bad though in my opinion. If you check out something like thinkpenguin or any other FLOSS businesses, their products expensive for some reason, most likely limited resources. Hurd OS is more comparable to those businesses.
