What are some good alternatives to Gmail that are widely accepted and usable? Like, ones I can use on most websites and such.

ooh yeah no YouTube ads is huge. Invidious and NewPipe are godsends. Me personally I’ve had relatively annoying inconveniences from changing my operating system because Google and Apple don’t let you see RCS chats (the thing that has read reciepts and allows for reactions) in group chats on third party messaging apps, so I’ve had to migrate every gc I’ve been in on SMS to Signal or Matrix. other than that degoogling is a lovley experience esp when you start downloading the foss replacement apps for stuff

        Super Productivity app my beloved

Which irks the pee out of me, since I’m not working, but still must use my own device for work and work communications. Capitalism really is evil.

not OP but i use qwant and it does the job like 99% of the time

it’s french so still hosted in the imperial core, but it’s a slight improvement over hosting in america

it’s good to have tech services all over the world anyway (even in the EU) cus when imperialism inevitably starts to fall apart, it’s good to have alternatives if some assholes start cutting the cords

Mojeek is lacking, Ecosia is intrusive af, DDG works but is still Bing, and throwing up more ads as top results and still leaks like a sieve with a finer mesh, goog** is hit or miss… Qwen is ok, but also iffy. Not sure who’s hosting it through the domains I access for it…
