Rents are rising dramatically in the city amid the AI boost as critics say landlords are taking advantage of a clause exempting most single family homes and condos from rent control.

      The tenant family didn’t reach the eviction stage.

      They could have dragged it out, possibly by not paying or underpaying rent, or other shenanigans, but sooner or later would have been evicted anyway.

      Fortunately they found another place in the city.
