I created a community and selected searching for moderators option, and I see the little message on the community saying “This community needs more moderators. Contact the piefed.social admin team to apply.”, and some other communities have messages displaying similar. Would it not make more sense for this to tell the user to contact the community’s moderators? If not, would it make more sense for there to instead be a button that links to a way to contact the admins themselves if that is necessary?

    Yes, that message needs tweaking.

    Another thing that can cause that message to be displayed is if mods have not been active for 3+ months. In that case it’d be best to talk to the admin team on the source instance.

    I’m wary of making it easier for spammers to find abandoned communities, however.

    I think it could sent a message to piefed staff and invite them to help you with community moderation.

    I think meta community should be used for recruiting moderators too.
