I’m not a historian or a scientist or whatever but… maybe it’s because the United States never went to war with Lenin, Mao, or Stalin?
Also those guys didn’t try to commit genocides… which is kind of important.
To my knowledge Mao didn’t even mean to cause mass deaths, he just sucked at logistical planning and being a leader, and millions starved because of it.
That’s ok though because original poster was definitely just doing Nazi apologia… so probably not interested in pesky things like reality.
Simple, the US was directly complicit with the buildup of the Nazi empire. The US had quite the love affair with Nazism before WWII as it spoke to their inner-racist nature of their leadership.
US industrialists supported the Nazi buildup with Ford famously building an automotive plant and telling Germans they could keep all the profits.
IBM helped develop the census system that was later tattooed on Jewish prisoners arms and helped with the logistics so the trains being sent to the death camps wouldn’t backup.
Hitler based the Holocaust on the genocide of the Native Americans. At first he wanted to expel all the Jews, but when the wealthy leadership of the US found out they stroked anti-jewish sentiment around the world and lobbied effectively to prevent any nation from taking the Jews in.
You see, it is important for the fascist fucks of the US to pretend they defeated fascism when in reality Russia did all the heavy lifting. It is a great lie and integral the the propaganda that props up the deciet of democracy and liberalism in the US.
I’d love to know who’s down voting this. There’s been a bunch of general “red scare” media. But to personify evil? Hitler. Every time. Not that it isn’t deserved, but the others deserve it too. Sorry tankies.
Edit- this might be a right wing dog whistle. I don’t know. But my interpretation remains.
It’s that it’s the wrong community. Check the about section. Things are supposed to be at least vaguely humorous, with a slant towards absurdism, not some random thing this.
Fair enough. I see enough “shit post” communities on my feed, they all just feel random and varying levels of funny. I didn’t know this one was so strict.
why 3 satellite dishes?
I may be wrong, but I seem to remember that this is a major point made by Michael Parenti in “Blackshirts and Reds” as an example of counterintuitive anticommunist propaganda. Effectively, the nuanced details of the Nazi atrocities are pretty widely known, for example, Göring and Himmler’s roles as “architects” of the final solution compared to Hittler. By reducing public awareness of the specific and personal details of atrocities committed under communist governments, criticism sort of bleeds across to the ideology. Any discussion about the specifics starts to become implicit apologia for tyrants, which makes propagandising against it easier.
Another example is while It’s common knowledge that Hitler was democratically elected, it’s not nearly as well know to most people if Stalin was. Drilling into the specifics, including his personal dismantling of democratic systems, would require a little too much examination of communist ideas (like that the word Soviet means “worker’s council”).
I haven’t read much Parenting so please feel free to correct my understanding of his points.
