Taking a shower together is fun. Intercourse in the shower is not as fun. It’s not easy to do it against a wall, is what I’m saying. That’s mostly just done in movies and porn. What they don’t show is the apple box on the floor for the woman to stand on, or how tiring it is.

That said, women take very hot showers, and stay in them a long time, they stay in longer if there’s someone with them, often till the hot water runs out.

Men don’t take scalding hot showers, and tend to get in, and get out.

So, I’m not sure this makes any sense, or would make much difference at all.

There are differences in pain perception for temperature in men/women, but I’ve never seen a definitive answer on why. The most common explanation with a moderate amount of evidence is that women have typically higher amounts of insulating fat in the integumentary system.

I don’t recall any strong studies showing differences in shower temperatures or shower lengths in men/women, but I guess I’ve never really looked into it either.

Note that there is an actual, tangible difference in shower temps when you have elevated estrogen levels, to the point that its one of the earliest markers of HRT working for trans folk.

Length of shower is purely subjective, though may have some roots in toxic masculinity.

Maybe my shower just doesn’t get that hot because some days, all the way hot just doesn’t cut it.

I love how it is an ad for hospitals and shower sex probably increases your chance of getting injured a ton.

Not that I have any experience with sex let alone shower sex.

I’ve never minded showering together with anyone. Tho it is nicer if you have a nice big rain showerhead so you can both enjoy the warm water.

But I definitely wouldn’t say me showering with someone else ever saved any water, it would either just take almost twice as long as me taking the shower alone or we would end up having sex making the shower take longer than us just having two separate showers

It is weird, isn’t it? Everyone I know who did it seemed to enjoy it, but it’s done so rarely that it seems like the amount of enjoyment must have been small enough to not be worth it.

I’m wondering about the effort in surveying it now, because it really does seem an interesting topic. Why do it? Why not do it? What enjoyment, what level of enjoyment? What pain/unpleasantness/‘not-as-fun’ bits?

It must be because it makes people come out of the shower feeling unclean, defeating the main purpose of the shower. As good as sex is, being warm and wet and clean is better

One person is wet and warm, the other person is soapy and cold, then you switch.

Having been there before, it takes the right kind of shower. Big enough to fit both, while small enough to keep the other person from freezing when they aren’t in the water

A large shower with two shower heads. I had that in a previous house. It wasn’t as nice as it sounds. Only reason it wasn’t a complete water of space is the design of the house (after four remodels) had a weird space that wouldn’t be useful for anything else anyway so may as well make the shower a little larger.
