Clear River Games, in cooperation with Square Enix, has announced Terranigma, a revival of the 1995 action RPG, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2…
Kinda get the feeling we’re not the target audience for this game. We’re not seeing any indications that the script was touched up (they did change the font, though), or any sort of love put into the game, really, just a basic wrapper and some hacky gameplay changes.
Retro enthusiasts know how to play these games; JRPG enthusiasts have at least heard of the game. This is probably a trendy port that means to capture some folks browsing through the digital stores for pixel art games, and its limited release in English-speaking markets means it’s more likely to look fresh than, say, Illusion of Gaia/Time.

Seems the fan arrangement of a couple songs was used in the trailer without permission as they were placeholders and weren’t supposed to be in the published trailer. Oof.
More from the arranger on Reddit if anyone’s inclined.
Thanks for the info. I’ve checked that place thread and seems that they have contacted the creator of the arrangement. Hope they will include in some way to credit his work.
Fingers crossed for a PlayStation disc or non-keycard Switch cart… think I’ll probably be let down.
Still cool that it’s finally getting an official release stateside.
According to Steam it’s also published my Limited Run Games so it’s likely going to have a physical release but it will be more of a collectors item that’s hard to get after the first batch.
Sally, Limited Run Games releases some games on Game Key Cards.
The quote says:
Now, at long last it will be available once again on console and PC, digital and physical.
So let’s keep the fingers crossed.
