It doesn’t say how old those individuals were, just that they were “residents”. Not that it matters much. But it implies to me that they were not children, suffering at the hands of the recently ignorant. Might be too far to speculate on my part, but it makes me remember that the anti-vax movement is now a 20-30 year phenomenon that has picked up enough steam to become a huge problem and is now catching up with us. Outbreaks will only become more common, deaths from preventable diseases are now stupidly inevitable.
