So, I don’t really know where to start here… I guess I’ll just ramble on and hope I make sense. Episode 246 of The Deprogram was very controversial, if you go to the comments section of it and listen to the arguments made by JT, Yugo and Hakim it’s, well… in my opinion pro-reformist. From what I can tell, an ACP channel (which if you don’t know, the ACP is the American Communist Party, it can be described as Patriotic Socialist / NazBol / mixing right wing nationalism, bigotry, fascism with communism and also it actually tried to takeover the subreddit r/TankieTheDepogram, which was a whole thing not too long ago) has used this opportunity to propagndise for the ACP by making a video on this episode, a video which in my opinion was actually pretty good. It mostly just quoted Lenin so that’s a big reason for the quality really lol.
At no point, apart from an American flag in the intro which I missed at first watch, does he argue for anything to do with the ACP or show any sign of being affiliated with them, unless maybe I have missed something I guess. Instead it seems he has taken this controversy as an opportunity, with this video, to promote himself as more communistic than the deprogram boys, get new subscribers and then he will I suspect down the line pull these new subs toward the NazBol nonsense.
I realised what was happening because at 12:35, in the video above, he mentions a channel which he claimed makes the type of content that Second Thought should, this channel is called REDGOD. So I start watching some of this REDGOD’s videos and my ACP radar starts going off because of how much this guy is centering his content around America, I then notice something, his first upload is collabed with MidwesternMarx - a major promoter of the ACP. I’m thinking maybe this REDGOD guy doesn’t know MidwesternMarx very well but I click on the video and the comments are well, let me just post a screenshot:

Yeah, so at this point I go back to the RTSG channel and see a video collabed with Jackson Hinkle, another major promoter for the ACP! Fuck me, these ACP bastards are sneaky, I feel like I just became friends with someone and then found out they beat their dog, you know, like I began to like this RTSG guy and REDGOD and now I am just disgusted that I was duped & invested in a person & didn’t realise sooner (it took me like an hour before I clocked the ACP shit) what they are.

ACP are Groypers pretending to be communists. Actual communists want an end to capital altogether.
the deprogram lost me a long time ago with their bullshit lib-takes they throw in here and there, i finally couldn’t take it and deleted their podcast from my player and cut the patreon donations. but fuck the ACP too
RTSG is pro- Khmer Rouge for some reason. Very strange individual.
Well, Khmer Rouge were ethnic supremacists & ultranationalists while promoting themselves as communists, so it checks out to me.
I don’t know what the hell goes on in these ACP nazbol people’s heads but it’s seems they love the idea of being edgy, anti-status quo & appearing super radical while having a combination of far-right social views and far-left economic views. Of course you really can’t create a coherent ideology out of this and neither a long-term movement without major funding yet they try and will continue to fail over and over again. Still patsoc, nazbol types can have some small successes and do some damage to actual communist movements so it’s necessary to fight back against their bullshit. Very strange people indeed.
What in the fuck-
Khmer Rouge was the quintessential NazBol/PatSoc movement. So no surprises here.
Yeah I’ve been following RTSG on twitter for a while and very recently noticed something with Midwestern Marx and ACP shit. immediately muted all that shit
If I got outflanked on Leninist theory by a national socialist I would hang myself.
He probably used AI. I don’t use AI but I imagine it wouldn’t be that hard to ask for it to use Lenin quotes and take Lenin’s views to counter their arguments.
Probably not tbh. Some of the ACP people are relatively well read specifically in regards to Lenin. And they could just comb through what other ACP people have already said.
Haz used Lenin to justify the Roman Empire was not imperialist. What the fuck are you on about?
“Relatively” is doing a lot of heavy lifting. Im not saying they invoke lenin correctly. Just because they engage with theory more than…DSA types doesn’t mean they don’t misconstrue or weaponize it.
I’m not defending them. I’m just saying its entirely believable that they made that video based on their “knowledge and understanding” of Lenin from pulled from ACP cesspools.
You may also wanna check up on their platform on women’s rights. These so-called communists are lying about reading Marx and Engels too. They will just randomly quote something out of the books they haven’t read themselves.
Yes i know.
The reason I started using lemmygrad was because of the attempted acp takeover of thedeprogram sub. Infact I discovered who was individually responsible (username within ACP). They have terrible opsec lmao. (Not that they need it cuz theyre unserious larpers anyhow) It was very easy to find the identity of people who were in direct contact to the main person who did it. Name, age, university ect.
Anyhow during that endeavour for better or for worse i became familiar with what they are.
the internet is not real.
am I coming across as terminally online or something, you can check my profile history, I’m really not. I made this post late last night because I saw something related to the deprogram that I had seen no one else mention.
sorry if i was being rude, that wasn’t my intention.
my comment was more directed at the broader tendency in left-wing online spaces to strongly (imho too strongly) engage with internet nonsense, not you specifically
The internet is a critical part of communication and the spread of information at this point, like it or not. It is important that we not lose sight of in-person aspect of things and how much more impactful that is, but it’s also important that we not cede the internet to the exploiting classes, or to opportunists, simply because they make it more annoying to be on here and deal with their miasma of nonsense.
So I sort of agree in a way, but I would also caution against taking it too far to the point of dismissing internet-based conflicts as purely an internet thing, as some kind of distinct happening that is separate from the “real world.” There have absolutely been people who were influenced ideologically via online and then went on to translate that to action in the real world, for better or worse.
You are completely right. Thinking that Internet exists outside of the real world is nonsense. It’s not like our real self and our virtual self are different people
okay no problem then, it was your comment plus someone else’s that lead to me saying that.
ACP is genuinely a bigger threat to communism in America than either Dems or GOP. I wouldn’t be surprised if Langley pays their bills.
This is an absurd statement. They are a fringe and irrelevant group. They are nowhere near as big of a danger as the Republican and Democratic parties which are core pillars of US imperialism.
They are a fringe group being given an artificially inflated reach by their bourgeois benefactors, allowing them to not only spread their vile fascism to audiences that wouldn’t otherwise see them but also tarnishing the reputation of communism with their unironic horseshoe ideology.
What self-proclaimed “communists” have to say will always be more damaging to us than what our openly critical enemies say about us.
I think the better way to look is, ACP is a threat to communist organizing in the US while the Dems and Reps are a bigger threat for the working class worldwide.
I agree with you they are a considerable threat, and the reason is that many fascists ideologues used Marxist theory (a revised version of it) to lure workers in places where communists were strong or were gaining traction (like Italy). Revisionism was great issue in the context of the 1920s and 1930s.
I think the better way to look is, ACP is a threat to communist organizing in the US
i thought it was pretty clear that’s what she meant by “ACP is genuinely a bigger threat to communism in America than either Dems or GOP.” (emphasis mine)

I agree with her, my comment is more like an answer to cfgaussian, and I decided to add in the same thread instead of branching to another one.
Jackson Hinkle is NOT an irrelevant person. He is their co-leader.
I think that’s a bit of an exaggeration. ACP are largely irrelevant.
The Nazis were also irrelevant at one point.
If you think ACP is going to take over the US government… I think you are online a bit too much.
I found YouTube links in your post. Here are links to the same videos on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:

This is an unhealthy level of paranoia and you and some other comrades need to touch grass. The Deprogram has its issues and problematic aspects and i’m sure so does this channel (i’ve never seen any of their videos, but it looks like they too are engaging in pointless leftist infighting). Playing this guilt-by-association game is entirely unproductive.
what do you mean? This post is simply about awareness of the ACP and two channels involved with them, it is not leftist infighting because the ACP are not leftists, theyre fascists cosplaying as left.
As OP said, ACP are posers, not left, and it’s not paranoia to notice when a channel pops up that is directly associated with them and is positioning itself as a critic of an existing left voice (The Deprogram). It’s a misleading oversimplification to say The Deprogram has its issues and so does this channel as if they are the same.
It probably means little for the reader if they are not based in the US and that’s fine. But it is still relevant as a general awareness thing because fash cosplaying as left, whether it’s ACP or others, is a real thing that happens. Doesn’t mean we should be paranoid about who shows up and where, but it’s not merely “leftist infighting” to be keeping an eye out for those who are leveraging discontent to lead people astray. And it’s not only an online thing, even if ACP themselves largely seem to be an online thing. It’s a historical reality that fascists tried (sometimes successfully) to leverage the same working class energy that communists did but for reasserting capital in a different form.
It probably means little for the reader if they are not based in the US and that’s fine
I’m not American btw and I would say that the ACP are not only problematic to America, after all they took over control of the AskSocialists subreddit which is not confined to only users from the US region.
Also their ideas may appeal to other’s own nationalities, what is to stop a politically fucked in the head, bigoted German, Brazilian, Korean or a Brit e.t.c. from liking the idea of their own reactionary, supremacist, nationalist, anti-capitalist movement after coming across some form of ACP propaganda/content?
That’s a good point.
I struggle to articulate what I mean to say often so that means a lot to hear, thanks.
You bet, credit where it’s due. I can relate in my own way. It’s part of the reason I can end up writing such long-winded posts on here. Sometimes I’m thinking something through as I write, which is why it gets so long. Sometimes I do that and still don’t feel like I conveyed what I wanted to say very well. And I consider myself a writer as a focus of craft, among other things. Some things are just hard to put into words.
For me, the hardest is when I understand something intuitively but have never had to explain it; it’s one positive that I find in responding to SRS type posts or other cases of re-explaining things that tend to be taken as a given on here. It’s practice at putting these sometimes complicated concepts into words.
So if you aren’t already, remember to be understanding with yourself about it. Some of the best orators have speech writers behind them and some of the most lucid levels of understanding of that we’ve reached as a species were reached through collective investigation, experimentation, and discussion of millions over generations.

All good. ❤️
The greatest historical example is that of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party, who we know weren’t socialist in any way.
Deprogram has its issues and problematic aspects and i’m sure so does this channel (i’ve never seen any of their videos, but it looks like they too are engaging in pointless leftist infighting).
No investigation, no right to speak.
