Hey all, Looking forward for any info about OS for tablets? Years ago I had bought Huawei android 5. Was in the drawer for year and now want to give a new life for it. Is there a possibility? I have read that some OS could safe the tablet from throwing it away. I need it for offline use and Bluetooth is necessary.
See if lineage OS might support it.
Instalation is so complicated of Lineage… I was wondering any other OS… I don’t need and I will not use internet or Sim in it. Was thinking maybe some kind of PC OS is possible to install?
If it’s complex to install LineageOS then you’re probably going to have a much worse time with anything else, if there’s even anything else compatible. Have a search for the model name to see what there is, but installing custom ROMs on a device that the manufacturers don’t want you to is going to involve some hacking and some technical know-how. And if by a “PC OS” you mean something like PostmarketOS, then you can check to see if they support your model, but I’d guess that will involve even more luck, hacking, and technical know-how!
I have not tried, and couldn’t find a model called ‘Huawei 5’, so std apolls if I waste your time.
Have you considered OpenHarmony.cn ? Huawei made HarmonyOS, forked it and supports openharmony community-based OS themselves, so there’s a chance that your tablet will work with it.

Fedora GNOME with extensions is a great Linux tablet OS, but I’m not sure it would support your hardware, it might only support Microsoft Surface tablets
I checked here https://xdaforums.com/c/huawei.11977/ but didn’t find a Huawei with “android” in it’s name. Maybe there is a more official name for your tablet? Anyhoo, good luck.
