    The cheapest someone can get an upgrade is generally now for years now, to my knowledge. I’ve been seeing prices going up since before any pandemics, major ongoing wars, crypto, NFTs, LLMs or datacenters, so seems to be a general tendency.

    I’ve been building my own PCs since the late 80’s. This is the first time I’ve had hardware appreciate in value.

    Hold and hope that nothing breaks. In a couple of years there will be no more bubble and Chinese overcapacity on the memory market.

    I just got two 16 mb ddr5 sticks for $200 off a dude on Craigslist. Feels like I win the damn lottery. Pain in my entire ass to put it in my steam machine. Do not recommend.

    Wasn’t normal before this current mess? I don’t remember trying to buy the same RAM again a few years later ever being easy.
