“I don’t know if I can convey the gravity of this photo and what it means to me.

Since Moose passed away Juniper has only yelled and snapped at every other dog she sees. I’ve been afraid to trust her to be around Ringo, but for months I’ve felt a pull to let them be together.

Yesterday I was finally brave enough to let them be together without the safety of a barrier between them. It was just a few minutes. A slow and mindful meeting to make sure that nothing goes wrong, but a few minutes is all it took for my heart to burst into a thousand pieces.

It’s been nearly two years since I’ve seen her make herself small and wag her tail excitedly.

She immediately ran up to Ringo, who understandably was hesitant, but within seconds both relaxed and ended up falling asleep peacefully together like they had known each other their whole lives.”
