Phew…i misread that title for a moment as cop breeding. Glad to see it is just something cool and normal.
lmao
Realistically these robots are going to diverge from the humanoid model right? Why not have 4 arms?
I think for the near future making Humanoid robots is more efficient because it is the one shape that can do everything people can do. If you use an off the shelf humanoid robot you don’t need to build the entire body control model from scratch you can just work on the specific job parameters. Once embodied AI systems get more advanced and start being able to run more complex ideas they might begin to produce optimized designs and construction to better fit their use cases.
If you drastically change the body geometry you need to also overhaul the control software, which would be a lengthy and costly process. The humanoid design has been extensively worked on already and you can more or less copy and paste chunks of the programming when designing a new application using that same geometry.
Probably easier to incorporate it into spaces already pre-designed for bipedal humans.
Yeah, I’d expect so, hoping we’ll start seeing real life droids before long here. :)
All these robots just look so boring. Give me some funky little dudes, like star wars droids please.
