“20,000 mail accounts. 20,000 blogs. 5,000 mailing lists. 1,500 websites.
In Europe.
Run by volunteers of @cavallette, perfectly legal, and decidedly antifascist, feminist, queer.
Destroyed and shut down by Trump’s administration, extra legally.”
If you ever need to give a reason for refusing to use email, add this to the list of possible reasons.
could be a reason for taking the analog path
I’ve switched to analog a few years ago. But they will come after analog means of communication the moment they finish destroying online privacy. it’s already started.
Well I agree that there are two assaults going on:
- assault on privacy
- assault on analog (aka forced digital transformation, to use European nomenclature)
But they will have more success reversing the order. The GDPR is a façade to comfort people as they get cattle-herded into a fully digital lifestyle. Then after analog mechanisms are ruined, only then will the privacy abuse come full force. Most people have not noticed that the GDPR is not really being enforced. It’s just a show.
If things happened in the reverse order, too many people would fight the forced digital transformation.
