Good thing I got mine a while back. Been using it for reading and for quick drawings.
I bought the Google pixel tablet when my Google pixel tablet was done, so maybe they release a new Google pixel tablet when this version of the Google pixel tablet is done too?
But maybe they would give it a version number or a different name.

Glad I got one last year for a clean GrapheneOS install. Love this as a fast and light declutered tablet.
Real shame. I’ve been enjoying mine for the last 2 years. It’s the only tablet with GrapheneOS support and USI stylus. Good sized screen for drawing and watching movies. My only complaint with it is the fingerprint sensor and lack of GPS. I really hope there’ll be a successor!
They want to sell you large foldable phones to replace tablets.
Yeah, to substitute 12-15" tablets with just WiFi. Good luck with that.
I stopped buying Google hardware after I got the pixel 2. It was an amazing phone, had an incredible camera. Really wanted to upgrade when the 4 was coming out so I started following the release news and noticed that they were putting previous generation processors in the 4 - like, previous to what was already in the 2. The camera was worse, the storage was smaller etc. killed my hype for it.
Then before the 5 was released, my 2 stopped charging and it was out of warranty so they wanted more money to repair than it would cost me to buy a phone from another manufacturer. Bought something else and never looked back.
I also had a Google Home at the time and it was one of the most frustrating tech experiences I’ve ever encountered.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they brick the tablets now that they don’t care about the product anymore.
My Pixel 4 is what pushed me over to Apple lol.
I liked the phone itself for the most part, but there were a lot of issues with it. The USB-C port in it was cheap and broke from little use. Like literally just plugging it in for Android Auto. I used wireless charging the majority of the time. Never had I ever had a port inside a phone break before. Same issue also happened with the case on my pixel buds, and they would only wirelessly charge after a while.
Then it would only wirelessly charge half the time and stopped charging on the pixel stand at all. It only worked with a little puck charger and only if I got it exactly in the right spot.
Then the battery cable came apart internally and kept disconnecting from the battery, giving me a little ? on the battery symbol and refusing to charge at all. Google support admitted it was a known issue with the phone and should be covered by them but then turned around and said that they wouldn’t cover it at all since my warranty was expired. And like you, wanted more to repair it than it cost to just go buy another phone.
And all of this was within just over 1 year of owning it.
After the issues that I had already had with Samsung that pushed me to Google, I just decided to try out an iPhone after years of refusing.
The Pixel 6 was nice, but a week after warranty I got the bootloop fail and Google told me to fuck myself. Another Samsung customer is made.
I agree, Google’s Pixel hardware has been complete trash. I bought the 4 XL to put GrapheneOS on it, and it was freakin’ sweet…up until the battery decided to swell up, which apparently was a known issue. So I decided to get a Pixel 6 Pro, and it was fine…until the phone would overheat due to the dogshit Tensor chip, and drop calls and cell signal in places where I knew I should’ve gotten good service. I then decided to get a Pixel 8 Pro and have been rocking it to this day. But it’s definitely gonna be my last GrapheneOS phone if the Motorola partnership proves successful.
I was thinking of getting the Pixel Tablet, but decided to go with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S5E and put LineageOS on it. Yeah, it’s not as secure as a Pixel Tablet with GrapheneOS, but I don’t do anything on my tablet that would require the security of a locked bootloader. Just watch videos and read comics and manga.
The snapdragon 855 (pixel 4) is a previous gen of the 835 (pixel 2)?
It’s been quite a few years so I don’t remember specific models, but there was a period where Australian releases weren’t shipping with Snapdragon, while global releases were. I recall being quite annoyed at the pixel at the time. Samsung was bad for it too. Probably still is but I’ve had the same phone for ~7 years now so I’ve not been keeping up with releases.
I’m sad that the used pixel tablet I bought didn’t have the stand, if I knew how expensive the standard was by itself, I would have spent a bit more to get tablet with stand, then I could use it for home assistant

The most consistent bet for the stand is usually to spend $200-$300 on ebay, sometimes to the point that it’s cheaper to just buy a combo pack, don’t recommend. But, it does show up sporadically for under 100, frequently in horrible condition, but sometimes in good if you’re patient, there were a lot on sale for 60ish new in box about a year back. You can find a compatible adapter on amazon for around $15 if it doesn’t come with one, believe the nest max adapter is compatible and common.
