Jellyfin users feeling smug till they look at the price of storage
Wish I’d gotten more while it was still reasonable compared to SSDs… thought surely it wouldn’t hit spinning rust nearly this bad
I thank the Lord for making me an undiscerning and unrefined pleb. Movies and TV shows downloaded in 1080p are perfectly fine for me. My 8TB drive purchased many years ago has all my photos, movies, TV shows, comics, etc on it and isn’t even half used.
Similarly my brother pushes me to buy “high quality” audio equipment and I can’t tell the difference. My taste in indie games is easily powered by a Steam Deck. The fight controller hitbox I wanted as well as the custom mechanical keyboard I wanted were easily DIY made on the cheap. My 4 year old phone serves me well. All my gadgets are old as fuck and work great and were likely dirt cheap on eBay in the first place. Life is much cheaper when you’re “fine with anything”.

No one believed AI was just like DOGE; it’s just billionaires taking power away from the masses so they can enslave and exterminate us all. Of course its going to affect spinning rust. It will affect everything and it won’t get better until we take their toys and possibly their lives from them.
I would pay for streaming if there was an aggregator for all the stuff, at once - like I can listen to music from thousands of lables. Otherwise, YARRR!
If they were smart they’d make a unified platform and split the profits based on each user’s views.
but they aren’t smart, they are just greedy.
250$ for 6tb , enough space for 2000 movies … better than streaming. :)
