A “works on whatever I throw this in” solution as a system monitor (SDL 2= works on both wayland and X11. Plus, it doesn’t even need a window manager to run – which is breddy gucci.). It has a pretty rough memory usage (10 times as much compared to btop), but its CPU usage compensates for it.
- Who is this for
Mainly distro hoppers.
- Why
Because “it just werks” and is “futureproof”'ish – might last a couple decades before it gets irrelevant.

Dependencies
Debian/Ubuntu : sudo apt install build-essential libsdl2-dev
Fedora : sudo dnf install gcc make SDL2-devel
Arch : sudo pacman -S base-devel sdl2
Alpine : sudo apk add build-base sdl2-dev
macOS : brew install sdl2
FreeBSD : pkg install sdl2 gmake

How to compile
After decompressing the tarball and downloading the dependencies,
make -j$(nproc)
Then run with
./notasysmon
That should do it. For more info, check the “README.md” file.

still. dont just install stuff on your system, that has been uploaded 1h ago and linked in a forum! unless you really know what you are doing, wait untill that thing can be installed through your distros package manager.
