Some of the highlights of this release are:
- iOS: Modes UI and transport-specific map styles
- Android: Display Mangrove user reviews in POI info page
- Custom map font size setting
- Android: Ability to start track recording after navigation start
Very cool to have the reviews moving forward. Right now mapcomplete let’s you write reviews into the mangrove database. Going to update and check that out straightaway!

My fdroid shows i use version 2026.08.31 however i cannot see the reviews
The reviews only show up on places that have a mangrove review written for it. There is no trace of the feature on places that don’t have them, which confused me at first.
Could you send a screenshot please? I can’t see any.
You can see just the average rating when you click the poi, click on the stars and the reviews with text will show.

Try adding reviews to one of your favourite restaurants using mapcomplete and maybe on next map update you will see it.
I’ve added reviews to a couple restaurants in 2024 on mangrove. I tried looking those up didn’t see any reviews.
Édit: If I understand correctly restaurants don’t show reviews. Could you see restaurant reviews?

Reviews may be the most important update for osm since 10 years
Okay so looking on codeberg it seems the reviews are really limited to only some POIs if I understand correctly :
Bump mangrove-osm-coder to include reviews for more POI types. In v 0.6.0 we include reviews for OSM elements with tags:
amenity=* leisure=* natural=rock shop=* tourism=*version 0.6.1 adds:
craft=* healthcare=* natural=beach office=* public_transport=stationSo I was specifically looking at restaurants and didn’t see any reviews…
