You don’t have to reference anyone to discuss Socialism. Frankly I think it’s a little masturbatory to mention the big names except when discussing them specifically.
I personally have found it to be dangerous to talk about socialism without knowing if the person is a staunch ML or can converse about their critics.
Like wise if the ownership of the socialism definition and revisionism like Democratic Socialism, Anarchic Socialism is associated or excluded.
Stepping into socialist theory it seemed like Manifesto of the Communist Party was the one and only way, joining lemmy.ml seemed to reaffirm that but then one listens to Socialists from a different media thier ideas are far less strict. I’m assuming they’ve read other books and pamphlets by other people.
Ugg it’s obvious that conversation on this platform has no merit when people can downvote you without reason and total anonymity. It creates the perfect environment for theories of a meddling of 50c army or similar, with no meaningful inclusion.
Mods are doing too little against this cult like behaviour.
