Evening chronotype linked to 70% heightened risk of needing a disability pension People with evening chronotypes have a 1.7 fold elevated risk of needing to retire early and take a disability pension compared with morning chronotypes, suggest the findings of research published online in the journal Occupational & Environmental Medicine. Chronotype is the body’s natural

Here’s a study that claims night owls are “cognitively superior” and that whatever chronotype you are, you must organize your life around that.

    https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/study-finds-night-owls-have-superior-cognitive-function-compared-to-early-risers

Here is a study that claims you are not beholden to whatever chronotype you think you are, and can retrain yourself.

    https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/news-archive/2019/night-owls-can-retrain-their-body-clocks-to-improve-mental-well-being-and-performance

And here’s a study that suggests there are actually 6 chronotypes.

    https://www.sciencealert.com/scientists-say-there-are-6-human-chronotypes-not-just-morning-people-and-night-owls

brb, i need to decide if I am a moderately active chronotype or a daytime sleepy chronotype and what effect that will have on my chances of requiring a disability pension or developing diabetes.

It’s all these morning people who make me live on their schedule that are killing me.

I used to think I was a night owl, but then I bought darkening curtains and a bright artficial dawn lamp. I spend severals hours in the dark before bedtime, and the electric sun rises one hour before I need to wake up.

    This shows why it’s necessary:
