While I understand what you’re saying, the Venn diagram is almost a circle. Almost all people with uteruses are girls/women and almost all women/girls have a uterus. So don’t “I don’t understand how girls walk around with uteruses” is a sentence that resonates with almost all girls and/or uterus owners.

unbelievable. Are you actually saying that since trans people are a minority, they should simply be erased? On a community hosted by Blahaj?

No I’m saying sometimes people will make a statement that doesn’t cover every possible minority and that’s just language. Cut them some slack.

Also there are lots of women without uteruses that aren’t trans…

But like what would you want them to say, “I don’t know how cis women who haven’t had a hysterectomy and don’t have any medical, genetic, or any other condition that precludes them from having a uterus, walk around with those things?”

Like, besides being just a ridiculous sentence, that somehow sounds much more exclusionary and transphobic than the original.

I’m maybe not doing a good job of putting this into words but going over the top with “but what about minority x they’re different” actually ends up making things worse.

Like, while they aren’t your words and I’m sure not your intention the overall message that ends up coming though to people after the sum of all these comments is “all women but trans women” which is not a great thing to be communicating.
