Nah, I mean that even thought they look so picture perfect, my brain just doesn’t see them as real, and parks them in the same category as a cartoon.
Whereas a practical effect, might look hilariously bad, but sometime a jello filled, papier-mache head exploding, is the perfect amount of gore to make me wince.
My theory is that since practical effects ultimately rely on physics of the world we occupy, that despite their unpolished look, they feel more real. The hyper realistic, but completely reality breaking effects of today just hit the same way cartoons do.
Speaking of cartoons, I love finding the shortcuts that animators would take, there’s something so artistic about how they did it.
I am just so much more engaged when I can watch a movie while also trying to figure out how they pulled off an effect.
My wife had cancer young and it caused her to be unable to nurse our children; she just couldn’t produce enough and so we bottle fed our kids. It’s been over 10 years but she still gets shit on for it by certain types (including some in my own family who remind us whenever they get a cold). She is so goddamned, rightfully angry with the types who try to shame people for not breastfeeding.
Those types are in charge of policy right now.
I’ve never thought about it like that but it makes so much sense. The hate in the heart of these people runs incredibly deep, I know because my own family has disowned me because I refused to “take the red pill”.
I am a leader in a youth organization and we have a few autistic kids in our group. They are wonderful kids, and their parents are just amazing with their patience and love for all the kids. I can’t imagine the difficulties they face, but I’m so truly blessed and happy to have these kids in my and my children’s lives. I’ve worked with special needs kids a few times, and the pure joy they are capable of is something that sticks with you.
But I’ve also known a few less involved and less interested parents who denied and refused care for their kids who clearly need help. I can’t say I know the political persuasion of any of these folks, but I’m pretty good at inference…

I’m not religious at all, but seeing these mouthbreathing maga fuckwit’s, slavish fealty to that pedo-protecting rapist criminal, has me reconsidering.
Different systems and we both have personal and professional lines we respect. I absolutely know I could but he also freely admits that among people our age it’s hilariously common and those who’ve gone untreated have their own inbuilt strategies.
He’s never short on advice, he’s a good dude.
I have a doctor who’s a friend. He specializes in, and has written papers about diagnosing adult ADHD. He pokes fun at me for my undiagnosed ADHD. Little comments like “gee, I wonder why…” while I’m telling stories.
He sees it. But I cannot get my fucking doctors to even talk to me about it. Whenever I ask about how to get a diagnosis, they just put me on another antidepressant.
I like ‘sloppers’ as a term for the morons distrubing and consuming the shit that the clankers are excreting.
I took a leadership role in my kids scout troop. Can’t do shit about this situation, but hopefully I can help these 70 kids get a good start on life and prepare for what’s to come.
I honestly think they would put the pedal to the metal. But I also think without the cult of personality, it will fall apart real fast. Only problem is, no idea who victors in that power vacuum…

I’ve got a feeling this guys mind is blown several times each day. Someone should show him how a magnet sticks to some things but not others.
I think I’ve eaten at a cracker barrel twice, both times were on a roadtrip and it was the most established place off an interstate exit, so purely convenience. I haven’t the first clue what they even offer, I just assume it’s all chicken fried and covered with gravy.
That there are people out there absolutely losing their mind over the logo change is one of the most confusing things I’ve ever seen. Who. Fucking. Cares? Goddamn, the group that likes to call everyone else a snowflake, sure is the most infantile people on earth.
That said, I’ll avoid cracker barrel from here on. I really don’t want to be near the sort of people who frequent that establishment. Kudos to them for so proudly self-identifying…

Seeing articles like these nearly every single week in the United States is, well, not boring and I don’t see anyone doing anything about these other than discussion.
So their new slogan gonna be “ok, maybe just this one more time…for now.”
