  • I got a few chores to do, then I’m going to sit down and do an experiment: I’m going to convert a guitar I just got got from a steel string guitar to a nylon string guitar.

It’s an a 3/4 size, all mahogany acoustic, and it sounds good, with good definition in the mid range, and nicely balanced highs and lows, it’s just a bit harsh for my ears. I already have a beautiful 3/4 size that I like, so I think this conversion could mellow out the tone of this new guitar, and give me a sound I don’t already have.

I’m also going to change the nut, saddle, and pins from cheap plastic to bone. That should help, too.

Religious freaks are predisposed to believe the most outlandish nonsense, so they’re the perfect target for political indoctrination. If they can believe in imaginary friends to the point of tithing to them, they’ll do that with a real life guy who promises to protect them from evil, just like Jesus.

  • The last guys that had to deal with these kinds of traitors, left us with a great tool to deal with this exact situation, called the 14th Amendment/ Section 3:

No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

This perfectly describes Trump, and every person who gave speeches at the pre-Insurrection rally, as well as anyone who amplified the Big Lie that the 2020 election was stolen, which was the premise for the Insurrection.

All it would have taken was a Biden Administration courageous enough to use the exact words in the Constitution to protect us from the resurrection of MAGA. If Lincoln could have seen that, he would have been screaming: “Why the fuck do you think we went to the trouble of amending the fucking Constitution? To keep traitors like these assholes from taking over again, you dopey dipshits!”

  • There were a bunch of compromises, but a lot of the budget closures came from cleaning up corrupt nonsense from past mayors, state obligations that governors had pawned off on the city, and the tax on wealthy second homes.

It isn’t the perfect situation to be in, but it’s a whole lot better than anything they’ve had before, and it can technically be called a balanced budget, something nobody else could pull off. And best of all, they did it without raising taxes on the people, or cutting services, something the wealthy insisted was impossible.

A Balanced Budget is the first step, and now that the city is on somewhat solid footing, it can use future tax revenues to shore up their position even better, address some the compromises they had to make, and build on their successes.

Or we can just invent all kinds of fantasies why the Socialist mayor’s obvious successes are really failures.
