When I think about it, I’d probably pay for a news source that aimed at giving factual, unbiased reporting (no I don’t mean “equal coverage”) and which deliberately dropped all deference or special respect for the ruling class. Especially if there were no “sacred cows” in general, genocide gets called genocide, none of this passive voice for police (“a man was shot during a police stop”), etc.
I’d put $20/month toward that.
These are great, but let’s also add and be vigilant in watching for Embrace, Extend, Extinguish type attacks! Let’s always advocate against integrating with any of their services / instances.

Yes, but we desperately need a thriving ecosystem of open source devices. With the way electronics are going - for example, being forced to agree to a new license agreement before being able to use a device I already purchased, and the agreement forces arbitration for disputes? We need more people working on enshittification-proof devices.
Probably time to start spinning up some shit like that, actually. Keep an eye on a broad index of salient search terms / hashtags, watch for dropouts.
