This feels very culture/location specific. A majority of people probably don’t eat a lot of meat, a majority of Americans do eat a lot of meat.

Technology@lemmy.world•Vibe coding has turned senior devs into ‘AI babysitters,’ but they say it’s worth it | TechCrunchEnglish
20·5 months agoThe definition may have changed but I feel like originally it was only vibe coding when the “dev” did not know what they are doing. When some one with little to no programming background is able to build and app on “vibes” alone.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What would you do if you were an 8 year old again, with your current mind (including memories and skills)?
1·6 months agoIf we assume I become my 8 year old self and live my life over, this becomes a problem. I love my wife and would not want to risk changing anything so that I meet her. Yet we at and dated at 16… this would be problematic as I would be a 45 year old man in the body of a 16 year old. Creepy factors aside, could I pretend to be what I think 16 year old me was like? And if I did would the relationship not be based on a lie?

Board Games@sopuli.xyz•What house rule did you add that was more interesting than a game's standard rule ?English
9·6 months agoThis is truly the only why into play. It speeds the game up tremendously AND you can be mad when someone takes the spot you were eyeballing. 100% better.
To be fair, I have seen people with ADHD claim, Wearing a butt plug while doing mundane tasks somehow helps. I’m convinced they’re all trolls or in the pocket of big butt plug.

2·6 months agoWhat happens when you hit the gas while in cruise control? In all the cards I have driven, you go faster than the set speed and the car responds to your pedal movements. I guess we can debate if we call that stopped or just paused, but it is certainly not ignoring your acceleration.

1·9 months agoI don’t disagree that the commenter was not calling for all wealth to be seized and redistributed. But I didn’t want to post my disagreement with all the other people who said this would cause inflation.

Bluesky@lemmy.world•This is how we should be selling redistribution
123·9 months agoIf 20 strangers get 1/20 of a 10 million dollar mansion what do they do? The most anyone could pay for it is $500,000.
Everyone is on here talking about how this would cause inflation, but I don’t think it would. A vast majority of this value is not in cash but in stocks bonds and property. I am more sure how you would divide up who gets apples shares and who gets 5% of their neighbors $600,000 home. But even if you were able, what is sure is that most people would want to convert their stock/bonds/property to cash so they can eat. Only problem is that no one in America would have any cash to buy up the assets. So in a market full of sellers and no buyers the value of everything will plummet.

10·10 months agoI dont know if it my local sports bar scene, but hooters is not the sluttiest sports bar nor has the best food. I feel like it has all this sexy reputation, it’s weird to bring kids too, but at the same time if you want to go to a bar for boobs there are better options.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do some laws exist if everyone is expected to just break them?
21·1 year agoBecause you don’t see the cars going the same speed as you. If everyone on the interstate was going 60 you would only ever see the 10 cars near you. But 10 people going 70 could pass 100 cars. Each of those drivers would see 10 cars going 60 and 10 cars going 70. Despite the fact that less than 10% of the cars were speeding.

But data centers use tens to hundreds of megawatts. So we’re talking about thousands or tens of thousands of times the heat.
