  • For myself, I am vegan for the animals.

I just could not justify participating in industries which exploit, abuse and kill them; especially once I learned about the true horrors they experience and the vast scale at which it all takes place in such frequency. It is a real, unending hellscape that happens behind societal curtains-- to such an extent that I can only imagine it must come to an end one day if we really believe ourselves to be an ethical species.

Vegan for them. Vegan for life ♡

  • Hi there!

The consensus may vary depending on who you ask, but over-all, it tends to be along the lines of what you had mentioned; that it helps reduce meat consumption.

Where I am from (Canada), it’s common to see brand names like Daiya and Gusta, both of which I personally enjoy from time to thyme. I also like making seitan at home when I have vital wheat gluten, which has the highest protein per gram of any food!

As for which to avoid: I personally avoid products that are made by meat companies, like Lightlife (owned by Maple Leaf Foods), as there are alternatives that don’t ultimately fund slaughterhouses.

Thank you for your inquiry! Hopefully there may be others who will chime in as well ♡
