Ooh cool! So just the other day, my husband saw a hawk grab a grey squirrel. And a squirrel buddy came over and attacked the hawk and rescued the first squirrel!! We’ve never seen or heard of anything like that before. These were grey squirrels.
Maybe squirrels are a lot more roughty toughty than I’ve been giving them credit for! 😁

Polar bears have translucent hair that looks white, and black skin. Looks like black squirrels have black skin. So maybe it depends if this white squirrel still has black skin underneath 🤷♀️ I’m going to tell myself that the lil guy will be fine because that’s a happier ending 😅

There’s an effort to map where white squirrels are showing up in North America. We did some research after seeing one in our neighborhood a few years back - like this one, ours wasn’t albino, which you can differentiate because squirrels with albinism have red eyes.
Edit: this lil guy is probably better off in the snow than otherwise, better camouflage! 😍
American born to English ex-pats here. We also left out beer for Santa - and carrots for the reindeer.
We left cookies out too, I’ll have to ask if the cookies (and maybe the carrots too) were just put back in the box/fridge, or what actually got eaten.
Edit: my dad says the beer and cookies were definitely eaten but “neither of those pair well with carrots” so apparently they just went back in the fridge. I’m not sure why my brother and I bothered with the carrots then 😂

Everyone’s credibility warning sirens should be going off after looking at this “article.”
My best friend has struggled with depression for a long time and no SSRI really worked for her. She switched to an SMS medication and it has made a huge difference for her depression.
Meanwhile I’m treated for anxiety moreso than depression, and also felt some emotional blunting on SSRI’s. I switched to an SNRI, which targets both serotonin and norepinephrine and that has gotten a lot better for me. It’s a lot easier for me to feel joy now.
TLDR: if your meds aren’t working for you, shop around and see if something else works better. Yes it takes time, but it’s better than being stuck feeling nothing.
Yeah I was recently cat sitting for friends who have two normal litter boxes and two Litter Robots. The Litter Robots weren’t functioning correctly and they didn’t know why yet so they were basically just normal litter boxes at the time, but gigantic lol.
Anyway I wasn’t very impressed if both their very expensive automated litter boxes weren’t working.
So I haven’t been left with a great impression of Litter Robot’s reliability.
Is this an overlook off the BR parkway?

Edit: also “randomly when I step away,” do you mean if you’re travelling? She might be stressed because she misses you and she’s lonely.
Our cat doesn’t respond to catnip but she does respond to silvervine!
I don’t think it’s the classic catnip response (which I assume is because of her genes) but she gets more playful and her pupils enlarge… for a few minutes and then she just wants to take a nap 😂

She’s occasionally called: Scootybutt, Scooterella, Scoots, Scootyscoots*, Scuttles, Scuttlebutt, Scoutster (only ever used by my mom lol), Scootypuff Senior (a la Futurama, but she’s too old to be Junior. Scooty is 12.)
(*Edit: I should add that when using this one, it’s always pronounced as “ScootySCOOOOOOOOOOOTS” in imitation of our friend who coined this while drunk.)
We pretty much only call her Scout at the vet

For my in-office keyboard I have Gazzew Boba U4 silent tactile switches. I’m very happy with them. I saw some advice that said not to lube them, which I gladly took to save myself the effort lol. I’ve been using them at work for 2.5 years now. And my coworker who (politely) complained about my keyboard being too loud before has not complained about this one 🙂
I use them on a Keychron K-series keyboard that originally came with brown switches. I did also upgrade the stabilizers on this one, my space bar was too loud.
I will say that I prefer my Keychron Q5 that I have at home. It was more expensive than the K-series, but it has better build quality. I haven’t had to do any mods (the stabilizers it shipped with haven’t bothered me) and I prefer the metal body of the keyboard.
