My high school digital media class taught us how to use the GNU Image Manipulation Program. I fell in love with it and have used it while vehemently not using PS.

At least in the smoking example, it’s not necessarily denial; addiction is a powerful thing. People are used to their way of life, and Trump represents the status quo (which so do Democrats, but whatever) People are too afraid of the change, or afraid they’ll be unable to handle the change, so they may hold their nose and vote for him. Denial is certainly a possibility, and in the case of Trump it may be the more likely option. But fear and routine certainly influence people too without necessarily driving them into deep denial.
I don’t know that I have enough faves to make a 3x3, but I do enjoy a few games that I keep coming back to or thinking about.
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice: I came across this game as I was coming to grips with my own psychotic disorder, and the game made me feel so understood. Like someone else knows what I’m going through and it’s not just me.
Dwarf Fortress: It’s a wildly complex procedurally generated world with colony building, like Rimworld, but it also has a roguelike adventure mode. I am a huge fan of roguelikes, so I really enjoyed this part of the game as well as fortress mode.
Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead: A sandbox zombie survival roguelike. You have mostly full freedom to do whatever. You can just go through houses and getting food and tools, trying to sneak around the dead. You can build a forge out of, like, clay and stone to forge metal weapons. There’s a complex vehicle building aspect, and you can drive around in your super car cooking meth and getting high and annihilating zombies.
Cultist Simulator: It’s a roguelike card game with a cosmic horror atmosphere and themes. You learn rituals and summon horrible gods, sacrifice your followers to ascend to immortality. It’s really a horrible premise, but it’s a fun game, and I love the cosmic horror.
They took one of the whitest ass of white dudes, but since he looks orange we did the lighting to make him yet whiter.
Oof. That’s certainly one way to approach politics, I guess.
My mom says she really doesn’t like socialism, but when we talk about it, she ends up agreeing with most aspects of it. Usually she’ll just admit she is familiar with how to deal under capitalism, and she worries socialism (and/or the transition to it) will be rough. We’re a working-class family, but since dad destroys his body for the overlords we make a comfortable amount of money, and they worry we won’t be as comfortable. I think being allowed to live despite my limited working capacity would be an upgrade.
Me too. All mine are from the US. I do have some of those neat Great Women quarters, or whatever that set was called.
Don’t forget the bad guy has to be disabled. Physically deformed, neurodivergent, something that somehow translates to them being evil.
I don’t exactly live in a trans-friendly environment, so I don’t know what it’ll take to get on HRT. Also I don’t know if insurance will want to help pay for it either. Those are the main things I’m nervous about.
Gendertrauma - a game where several people are put in a submarine. Each of them are trans, but told everyone else is cis and trying to clock the trans person.
Bipartisanship is just class solidarity but in the ruling class.
I would advise some caution conflating empathy with caring. Many NDs have decreased–or possibly even a lack of–empathy due to the construction of their brain. This does not mean that they do not care, though. Even a lack of empathy is no excuse, NTs just fuckin hate us.
There’s a guy near where I live who literally just had a dirt yard. No dead grass, or just starting to grow; just dusty dirt. Which they mowed consistently, causing the air in the whole neighborhood to be just dust. It was nice when it rained because the dust would settle and they wouldn’t mow it until it was dusty again.
I really enjoy the non-canon appearances of “Refresher.”
Trump is certainly gearing up to do some atrocities of his own, for sure. More like take decision-making powers away from Americans.
Like seriously, I get her saying that there are other issues to work on, but like, do you think the people would have voted for a trans woman if they didn’t think trans rights and representation are important? Stand up if not for yourself then for all the other folks these guys are coming after with your implicit permission!
I guess that makes sense. About the trans thing, I guess that’s just how it’s been presented to me. I came from a deeply conservative background and am working through a lot of deprogramming and relearning. Also Tumblr lib programming to undo too.
Most of our write-ins are lumped together. Claudia de la Cruz only got nine votes here, one of them of course was me.
Midwest has been seeing a few spring-like tornado threats this past week.
