Marathon@lemmy.ml•How feasible is it to play mute solo?English
2·6 days agoThere are 3 ways to queue up.
- “Normal” 3 player squads. You’ll be auto filled
- Solo queue. The match is against other solos.
- As Rook.
Rook You queue up by yourself in a dedicated free scavenger shell. But you are put into an existing 3 player squad, lobby that is already partially through the time. So you can skulk solo around and pick up loot left over on downed bodies.
Playing in a squad of 3, silent Is totally viable. For half of the server slam I was on mic. The other half I was chilling out and silent. But I was using the quick comms wheel to ping loot, NPCs, warning of areas, etc.
I doubt it will get Linux support due to one reason: BattlEye
It is the kernel level anti-cheat that they use to
preventdeter client side hacking. Which currently doesn’t have Linux support. https://www.bungie.net/7/en/News/Article/marathonsecurityFor Destiny, I always wondered why they didn’t leave it off by default for PvE (missions, ops, etc). And only enforce it for the PvP modes. That would have allowed for at least partial support on Linux.

Thanks. The ARG stuff is always interesting. I had been activating the terminals as I play, just in case it helps. Fun to know what it was actually influencing behind the scenes.
