The other day I was supposed to take an ICE, which was canceled, and all the next ones as well for that day. So they had replacement buses. 4 per train… which means that when i arrived at 11.30 for my “train-bus” replacement, the 4 buses that left were from the 9.30 slot. By the time the buses for the 10.30 slot arrived, there were people from the 12.30 train there. You can imagine I gave up and did not go.

Maybe it changed but I only had crashes and version problems due to the spike in popularity. There were app takedowns and I had a less reliable experience so I switched.

ReVanced has been iffy since they got too popular through reddit, but I use grayjay which is FOSS and I really like it. It’s still in development but have to support the work they’re doing !

Mais non is not really used as a question unless you express disbelief. Like “no way?!” is “mais non?!”. You can Actually just use “non…?” in your original sentence as it leaves space for questioning but also judgement.

I’ve really not enjoyed the last Astérix, having grown up with the Goscinny ones. To be honest, I haven’t read this one, but I’m planning to. Not expecting much to be honest, but thanks for the review nonetheless !

Goscinny of course had master class puns, and I mean in french it’s just perfection. But maybe it’s further than that. He had great timing and tempo in storytelling, that the newer albums clearly have lost. They try nowadays to take the spirit of making jokes using modern situations, which can work but this mostly falls flat imo. It’s like writing satire and being witty isn’t as easy as it sounds !

These magazines have always been a super important part of the bande dessinée landscape. When I was a kid I would read modern versions of the descendants of the journals like Le journal de Tintin.

My take was always that writers could try stuff out and make solidify content for their albums they would later publish. At the end of the day, all the extra one pagers or adventures were always refreshing. When you have read all of Tintin 46 times over, anything more will do!
