“Guess what? I’m on top of the liquor. I am the monkey in charge of the bananas.”
I think I have the opposite issue. I’m deceptively calm. I think I can count two times in my life when I’ve shown anger, and they involved extreme circumstances. I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing because sometimes I just let things eat me up on the inside instead of expressing them in an outburst to get it over with.

1·12 days agoThat’s a nice idea but sadly doesn’t work for all occasions and with all people. I’d love to receive a letter but most people I know would find that odd. It could be a cultural thing too. I am Moroccan and most people here don’t appreciate symbolic gestures. In weddings for example it’s customary to even put a sum of money in an envelop and put your name on it to give it to the couple.

memes@hexbear.net•"Please make sure to penetrate one person at a time"English
8·13 days agoIt’s a weird choice of words. “pénétrer” is hardly used in this context in French. “Entrer” is used and means the same as enter in English. You can use “pénétrer” in French outside its sexual context but it often means entering in a specific way that usually involves force, which is a strange choice in the case of a bus.

1·13 days agoI listened to some episodes of the Reading Capital with Comrades podcast and it was good from what I remember at the time. Give it a try and see if it’s what you’re looking for.

badposting@hexbear.net•Just found a youtuber who reads like 10 books a month. wtf
10·19 days agoI never understood counting books this way. It would make sense if all books took the same time and effort. But you can read 30 modern novels in the same time and effort that would cost you in reading perhaps 1 book by, say, Hegel or Kant. I’m not saying that the easiest reads are useless or bad but they are different. Even in novels some are easy to get through and I might read one in 3 days or so, while some can take me a month to parse. Unless you are speaking of a specific kind of books requiring roughly the same effort, the measuring of number of books doesn’t convey much information.
