I agree. I do worry about the barrier to entry for some people. I know it gets brought up a lot here but I think it’s a valid criticism.
Looking into apps was actually the first thing I did after making an account!
I used Sync for a few minutes, but then settled on Voyager because they don’t collect any data.

It was important to me to find a place that was similar enough to reddit to let my transition be easier. I’ve been on reddit for like 14 years and I just wanted an alternative that is close to what I knew.
I like world a lot, but in general I like the whole idea of the Fediverse.
